A very quick bit of information on Wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unite... (ok not always the most reliable of sources) . Are you under assessment for being added to the liver transplant list? As the Wikipedia page seems to indicate that a UKELD score of 49 is the minimum required for liver transplant in the UK. Have you got a follow up appointment scheduled? More discussion with your specialist definitely required.

All the best with it.

Thanks for your reply and assistance. I was added to the waiting list about 8 weeks ago. 6 weeks ago I saw the Professor and was told my bloods were so bad I would be classed as a priority. Next appointment is 6 weeks so will call the liver coordinator.

Yes that is correct you are needing the transplant let us know when you get the call. What blood group are you.. My husband is A which meant he could receive A or O Liver. He only waited 9 weeks.

Good Luck

Hi i add my wishes for a short wait for you. I had a liver transplant at the old queen elizabeth hospital just before they moved over to new hospital. Spent one night in new hospital before discharge. 3 weeks altogether. Still attend clinic at the hospital. They are very good.

Thanks for your wishes. I attended clinic on Thursday and was talking to someone that had a transplant earlier in the year he confirmed what you say about how good they are. How are you doing?

Hi not too bad all liver results good no rejection. Have other health issues, though did have health problems before transplant and it was an urgent transplant due to acute liver failure.

Hi Dawks I had liver transplant at QEHB in April , so I'm 8 months post transplant and am doing well. I had hep c which gave me cirrhosis which in turn gave me liver cancer! So I was on list and am blood group a positive which as you say is the most common. Once I was on urgent list I was called 8 days later and everything went well. Scary though and long haul to recovery and at times you can't imagine getting better but you do. Good luck and if you need any more info please ask .
