Well, itโs the last day of the year and the last day of this Quest. A perfect time to look back and summarise how your Quest went.
Did you reach what you set out to do? Perhaps you did more? Or life, injury or other things got in the way and you didnโt quite get there this time?
If you feel like it you can summarise your thoughts below in the comments.
Or, if youโd rather just forget about December and get on with a new year, a new month and a new Quest (hosted by our fabulous Hidden ) then thatโs absolutely understandable too ๐
Itโs been an absolute pleasure hosting the Quest for December and Iโve loved reading your posts and updates. There have been some amazing achievements here and your enthusiasm and positivity have been shining through the whole month, so at the end of the day I think we had an amazingly dazzling December!! ๐๐ซโจ
I wish each and every one of you a healthy, happy New Year and joyous, injury-free running for 2022 x

Thank you Irishprincess I donโt always join the quest because I start with a good plan then fizzle out but I dropped in at the beginning of the month and have been keeping up to date through the month. Have a healthy and happy New Year
I took the whole month of January off last year (a mixture of niggles and tiredness) and found it ok but Iโm not doing it this year as I have training to do ๐
I would just like to say thank you IP for your gracious and superbly positive hosting this month, and also to the other able hosts from whom I have benefited as a Quester this autumn; Oldfloss in September, Sandra1961 and Shake-and-run in October, and Instructor57 in November.
I am a little surprised at the progress I have made in that time, having just completed a re-run of C25K in August after being mostly on the IC since May 2020, and the weekly check in and unfailing encouragement I have received as a quester has been invaluable in helping me along the way.
Been having a bit of a lazy Christmas, though my thoughts have turned to next year and the running I would like to do; I seem to have bought some high end trainers half price in the Nike sale, so I had better get on and lose some weight to be worthy of running in them!
Oh my! The Christmases roses... I always have some in memory of an all too brief pregnancy over this period.
It's been a funny old Quest for me. I said I was going to be gentle with myself and I have been. I also said I'd be happy if I managed a run, a yoga practice and a bath... well I had the bath!
We hadn't even been out for walks as much between lousy weather, being busy, and feeling ill. I also, bit of a shocker, had to go and get my heart reset at the hospital (but it worked a treat). We've been out for a walk today for the views and to get the cobwebs blown away - bit of a shocker how much fitness had gone.
This month has been dominated mainly by the weather. We've had some awful rain at times, including Storm Barra.
This has reduced the time available for running a little. Other things have also taken priority from time to time.
My priority this month has always been to get through the month without getting injured. I think I've done that.
That said, I've been able to do about 100 miles of running this month, though my late target of getting 1000 miles in the year didn't happen. I was only 22km short!
And I kept up my habit of doing a HM distance each month.
Four of the five days I was away in Wales over Christmas visiting my parents, I did 5km. One of them equalled my PB time. Maybe that's why the Christmas excesses have not affected my weight one bit.
Looking towards the New Year, I'm definitely going to be keeping up the habit of doing parkruns, and I'd like to extend my longest distance (currently HM) by a bit. This time last year my longest run was 8km.
Sorry to have missed the Quest this month your Maj, December was just a little too hectic this year to set any exercise goals for myself I would have loved to have joined you. Hoping to get my act together for January and start fresh.
