OMG I am suffering so much with the hot flushes since starting Tamoxin in August. Its bad enough during the day but the nights are unbearable, I wake up dripping, take quilt of and put fan on then get cold?? I wake up 4-5 times during the night and working full time is draining without proper sleep. Any suggestions?
Lots of love Gitte

Sorry to hear that you’re suffering so much. I have also found tamoxifen a nightmare. Flushes, leg pain, etc etc. I find that some brands affect me more than others and also the usual culprits like sugar, caffeine and alcohol make it worse. Hope things improve for you soon. Xx
I also suffer from hot flushes whilst taking tamoxifen and letriozole. Particularly at night. I keep a bottle of cold water handy to drink I find this helps. Also try laying a towel on your pillow this can help draw the sweat from your head.
I share your pain! Many of us find that changing brand of Tamoxifen makes quite a difference. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor about trying something else. I also changed the time of day that I take the tablet and now take it in the morning. Good luck! X
Hi, I started tamoxifen in jan last year and suffered exactly as you have described with hot flushes and night sweats. Just as we went into summer this year I realised that I hadn't had a hot flush or a single night sweat for weeks, the brand of tamoxifen that my pharmacy usually supplied me with was providing different to get hold of so they gave me a different brand made by genesis and its since taking this brand that I barely have any symptoms. Hope this helps!
It's horrendous and I suffered a lot too. I only managed to keep on top of it through vigorous exercise and acupuncture. It's a nasty drug, so sorry you are suffering! x
Welcome to my world 3yrs later still the same, it is embarrassing more than anything water running off my face total nightmare I have tried everything but nothing works x
Exercise, keep off spicy food, keep off alcohol. It comes in waves, it will ease at some point. Try to take it easy at weekends. I take holiday to recover, even if it just a day or two at the start of a month, just live month to month to get through work. My GP suggested citalopram, but it can cause weight gain and other side effects, so didn't take it but things did ease for a while. Mindfulness can help, as can accupuncture.
I also suffer with the day and night sweats. It can be horrible. I just grin and bare it as i have tried everything. Keep thinking they will ease as time goes on but no luck yet. Hopefully yours will ease soon xx
