Oncology Review

Hi Ladies, I attended my three monthly oncology review today. I have been o. Three monthly reviews since the last chemo I had last June. Today I am happy to share that my tumour markers are normal, as is everything else and I do not need to be seen for 12 months. I feel like walking on air today. Deep inside lurks that little bit of worry that this might come back elsewhere, however I am going to bury that and look at the road ahead rather than the road behind me and cross any hurdles only if they appear. I hope you all received good news soon too xxx

That's great news Lainey. I have my review tomorrow. Don't hold out much hope for news like yours as I had to come off chemo 3 months ago because of a rash but one can only hope. Fingers crossed xx

Chrissie, they had to take me off my first lot of chemo as, and I quote "It is killing you quicker than it is killing the cancer". I had surgery brought forward and after surgery more cancer cells found d so they carefully selected more chemo for me and I was on it for a firther six months along with 25 sessions of radio. Do not give up hope, they will have to sort something to help you. Please let us know how you fare. Sending love ❤️Lainey xxxx

Just seen your message Laine, that's fantastic news, I am so pleased for you. Enjoy your new health and keep up the good work with your paintings. You deserve some good news after what you have endured and now face a new future in happiness. Take care. xx

PS. I had some good news today, my left supraclavical nodule biopsy result is negative so I have now been passed over to Oncology to start my radiotherapy in the next few weeks. So pleased to be moving forward again. xx

Excellent news Dolbycat, the end is in sight for you and radio is far easier than chemo. Use E45 unperfumed (it has a red lid) put it on the night before radio, shower it off the morning of radio and repeat each day, the skin may not become as itchy and burned, but the clavicle will catch, not as severe as it would not using the cream though. All the best indeed xxx ❤️❤️

Thanks for the tip. I will buy some of the cream tomorrow. X

Hi Elaine - I have just seen this and I am delighted that you are clear and don't have to go back for another 12 months ... enjoy - you deserve it.

Love bernxxx

Hi Bernie, yes thankfully a 12 month reprieve from Oncology. I have to attend the liver clinic every three months at the moment as chemo has damaged my liver and they are keeping a check that the damage, caused by the cure, does not turn into either Cancer or Non Alcoholic sclerosis. Unfortunately TNBC has a tendency to move to the liver, bone and brain. I am awaiting an ultrasound on my forearm and wrist of my right hand as the tabs they are trying me on has affected my bones too. However I am hoping after the last two years this lot will be a walk in the park. 😂😂 how are you keeping Bernie? Much better now I hope. xxxxx

I am well ish now Elaine - finished radiotherapy on the tumours they found in August and now sleeping a lot (radiotherapy and a cold) but underneath I feel better - next scan first week in October ... so here's hoping. I will try to get to Wicklow to see you before oct! I am absolutely tgrilled w your news even with all the side effects ...love bern
