Has anyone else caught a cold/flu after surgery?

My surgery was on 13th May and I am healing well. Just before I went for surgery I had an awful cold which has returned with a vengence! I feel really rough and am worried it will drag on. Has anyone else had the same experience please?

Hi I didn't have a cold but a cough which started before surgery & still had when my chemo started they then gave me a antibiotic & it went, I was ok, just get checked out either by your GP or next time your at the hospital , good luck 💞

The exact thing happened to me, I dosed myself up with honey and hot lemon( as I was afraid they would cancel the operation),and since that my cold and cough haven't gone, been to the doctors, and was given codiene cough mixture, and still got it,this has been ongoing since October 15.going again next week,I thought it was something to do with anesetic.glad to know I'm not the only one, also the doctor took me off my blood pressure pills,as some of these can cause coughs.hope you feel better soon.xx

I had a cough and cold. Asked my Oncologist about it,when I had my next treatment, as it wouldn't go away with normal remedies and was put on antibiotics straight away. Hoping you feel better soon x

Thanks Sarah. I am seeing the Oncologist on Tuesday, so will ask him then if things are still lingering.

Not me. I am actually surprised I haven't been sick one time. I had surgery in Oct and again in Nov then chemo the last 5 months. Maybe some vitamin c. My doc put me on 1000 before my surgery.
