Hi, I recently had my second Chemo. The side effects were more strong and painful than the first one. Will the intensity keep increasing for the next chemo?? Pl let me know your experiences.....

Hi there

I can't say that things get worse each time ,although it does take it out of you each month so your body feels more tired ,everyone's different and depends on your chemo , I found I was breathless and bloated ,I had two different types the taxo lat the end was worse and caused feet pain, having steroids used to make me sleepless and on the go but gave me a boost and I was busy on the go all the time

If you focus on getting each month ticked off it will soon pass and your consultant can deal with whatever you throw at them ,you will get through it just ask for help and advice from the nurses or US survivors I am sure we all have tips for side effects

Hi honey, I found there was no particular pattern, i had 4 FEC sessions 3 weeks apart and the 3rd one was worst, so I dreaded the 4th, but it wasn't as bad. Then I was on Taxotere and I tolerated it far better.......no idea why as I know some people who can't.

I had my 5th FEC yesterday. There does not seem to be a pattern with mine .1st one horrible ended up in hospital twice diagnosed with PE as well! 2 nd wasn't so bad after 4/5 days. 3rd felt very rough for most of time. 4th was ok till got cold and cough and temp up so bloods antibiotics and luckily all ok for number 5!! I'm doing work when I can about 1 1/2 out of the 3, going for walks when I can.Good luck you'll get through it. Lots of love and hugs xxx

I had FEC-T. 1st 3 I just felt about sick with for 3/4 days but I was only actually sick once. The 1st of the taxol made me quite ill and I had to be admitted overnight. They thought I had sepsis. If fact I was dehydrated and constipated so the chemo wasn't draining out. Anybody having chemo needs to drink at least 2/3 litres of water a day to flush it out. Sailed through the next 2 taxol. No other side effects at all.

I had my first session on Friday, and am enlightened by the questions and answers so thanks for posting. I guess we will all respond differently but it's a good reminder to me to keep drinking fluid xx.
