Hi everyone!

In November of 2022 I fell down the stairs and landed awkwardly against a solid breezeblock wall.... unfortunately the way I landed meant I had a moderate concussion with bruising on the brain and the subsequent side effects. I was told to give it a week and I'd be able to go back to work....

5 months on there is next to no improvement and I lost my job on Valentines Day - limited mobility due to balance problems, light sensitivity, memory problems and was recently diagnosed via MRI to have a swelling on the pituitary gland in my brain as well as a *localised bleed in the affected area*.

My question is this - how can I try to continue to have a normal life? I have a wheelchair for distances as I can walk as long as I have support (using furniture or a wall but not far as I fall over a lot) and will this get better? In all honesty I'm still a bit scared of this new *me* and how I cope lol. Any tips would be gratefully appreciated, thank you x

It sounds like I wrote your post!!!

I have had several falls and have had my knee and hip (both left side) replaced anshad a lot of PT but never could get my balance to walk unaided. So last August I saw a Neurologist (privately) and he prescribed a head MRI and neck ultrasound. Result was I had had several mini strokes and a brain bleed. He put me on Atorvastatin and Aspirin.

I static cycle three times a week, walk about the house and garden (with a walker with two front wheels) and try to keep as active as possible, both physically and mentally. I practice walking with an orthopedic elbow cane but do not feel confident yet to go outside with it. I also practise walking "freehand" but only around and between the bedrooms.I have found I must be positive.

I tooo use a wheelchair for any distance and use furniture/walls for safety.
