good morning guys. Haven’t post for a long time. Had my appointment after 4 yrs from my surgery (thought it’s just a catch up ) when I arrive for my appointment first was sent to separate waiting room 🤪 (suspicious). My doctor came to me and we start to chat and he asked if I know why I’m there ?! I said yes you want to catch up and see how I’m doing, he replied no 😮

We went to his office and he told me that my aneurysms (coiled)start to bleed 😩

So I’ll have another surgery 😭

He explained me that they have to put stents in my brain 🧠

Does anyone here had stents placed in the brain and can share with your experience with me please.

sooooooo stressed 😫

Thank you very much and have a lovely day.

Hi Irmina, you were lucky in respect your bleed didn’t take your head off, i had coils and stents fitted in 2012 and mine ruptured in 2017 and felt like an almighty bang to my head and I went down like a sack of potatoes, I was walking our dog and there was nothing I could do, it was instant. The surgery is no different than the coils, the stents block the blood vessel so the coils can’t escape into the blood stream and cause a stroke. I had to have two stents as my aneurysm has a wide bottom, bit like me now really lol. You have had coils fitted before and you know the procedure for this, so please try not to stress as the stents are the same and nothing more to worry about, I hope this puts your mind at rest a little but please come back and chat I go on the headway site it is more frequent than this one and lots of people who will reassure you, take care Irmina, love Alice xx

hi Alice. Thank you for your reply. When I had my SAH happened at night. Woke up month later in hospital (was terrible). Had stroke and took me over a year to back to new normal. 6 months in hospital (learning how to walk talk etc) that why I’m soo stressed. Thank you 🙏 for taking the time and replying for my msg.

How are you now?? Hope well
