Scared!

At the end of May, I had a massive stroke which ended with five and a.half of brain surgery as the bleed was in the 'third brain'. I then had brain decompression and finally high oxygen levels. After four lost months in hospital, followed by ongoing help, I am finally at home. Will I ever regain my confidence again. I wake in the mornings sometimes surprised that I am still here. A very negative post - my apologies.

Hello. I can totally understand how you feel, it's normal. I too had a brain haemorrhage and then a stroke and lost weeks , when I was in intensive care and knew nothing about it. It is scary, very scary BUT the good news is that it does get better. At first I was afraid to be on my own and had no confidence and although the recovery is slow it is possible. I would suggest that you contact Headway. They really helped me come to terms with what had happened but also gave me hope that it would get better and they were right. Please feel free to message me if I can help. Be kind to yourself and don't expect too much too soon, you will get better. JB xx
