Yesterday I quickly read the BMJ article concerning Biophosphates, in Save our bones and the damage done by taking these drugs. I was on the bus when I read it. So this morning I thought I would read it again.
But It seems to have been taken down? Please can you send the link again as everything in the article I now suffer from….even the heart problems…as the hospital consultant was at a loss as to why I was suffering with breathless and my heart racing.
I am currently also under a Maxillo dept, for my poor jaw that sometimes works and sometimes dosent.
Thank you

Can you post the link in this thread. I too have taken bisphosphonates and my endocrinologist definitely failed to provide a lot of important information before prescribing these meds.
Hi FearFracture unfortunately I am not tec savvy. I took a picture on my phone of the info I needed, so I can show it my GP and consultants over the next week.. But as Bluepettals says it should be available for all time until it is either over written or new studies take presidency.
I totally agree….I was mortified when I went back on and the link had disappeared….there’s enough to contend with in the world at the moment your quite right. Take care of yourself, no one else will. X
Thanks all for your posts about the link to the 'bones and BMJ' article from 2015 as discussed by ‘save our bones’ site. Firstly, apologies for deleting the post without discussion. The post was flagged as containing advertising links which is against community guidance, which is why it was taken down. In future we’ll discuss concerns about posts before taking action as we understand this caused confusion and concern.
We can see that the article has been re-posted and you've found it helpful, so we’ll leave the link up so you can continue to read and discuss it. However, please bear in mind:
• We advise caution on sites with advertising as the analysis may not be balanced and may be biased towards views which support the sale of advertised products.
• Interpreting studies There are lots of ways to interpret clinical studies like this, some researchers conclude that hip fractures are best reduced by preventing falls (especially in the elderly and frail) and some that drugs are helpful too. At the ROS we try to offer a clinical consensus which looks at all the data and evidence around medications. We have lots of information about medications for osteoporosis including a series of factsheets about the different drugs theros.org.uk/information-a...
• Individual choices Some people feel strongly that risks outweigh benefits with medication and prefer to take a different route and this is completely individual choice. Please be careful about posting to studies which may only give one side of the evidence to others and be respectful of other people’s choices - whatever they may be.
Our clinical team have highlighted an article published by leading researcher Juliet Compston in Osteoporosis International which gives a different perspective on the same study - you may find this helpful context when looking at ‘save our bones’ link.springer.com/article/1....
