I cancelled my appt. for 5th prolia injection and refuse to listen to doctors like my oncologist any more. I am still living with the aftermath of what prolia did to me and since it took two years to get this way, I am hoping in two years I will be normal again. Come to find out, I really did not even need to be taking Prolia in the first place! I am taking many good supplements to support my bones and eating very healthy.

Be very very careful with your bones re: rebound effect. See a knowledgeable rheumatologist for guidance please.

I have seen two alternative doctors and neither seemed concerned about this rebound effect. Not everyone gets it, do they? People who did not have bad bones to begin with - do they often get the rebound effect? The alternative treatments are also nasty so I want nothing to do with them. My oncologist did not need to put me on Prolia in the first place because I only had mild osteopenia that most women in their 60's have. I work out with weights and eat very healthy, especially now. I stopped my estrogen blocker so my calcium growth will not be inhibited and I am taking DIM, indole carbinol and other things to substitute for the estrogen blocker and to build my bones. I will just pray that diet and good sense will overcome what Prolia did to me. I am just fed up with this artificial stuff whose side effects still have not left my body.

Maybe call the Royal Osteoporosis Society, or the equivalent in your country if you are not in the UK. They will have the information you need.

Not really knowing but I'd suspect you'd need a bridging medication, like Fosamax, before the effects of the last Prolia dose wear off as the whole point is to avoid rebound fractures but I'm sure correct information is available from the ROS help line.
