Alendronic Acid ?

I took my 5th tablet last Friday. By midday I had a sore throat and was dizzy. The following morning my whole body ached. Four days later I feel much better. Is this a reason to stop this?

How did you feel after taking the first 4 tablets? If you felt ok with taking the medication for a month and the fifth week you did not feel well then it could have been something else perhaps and not the AA. If you have felt unwell after taking the other 4 tablets then personally I would not take any more of the medication. If on the other hand it has only happened in week 5 then I would see what happens after taking the 6th tablet.

I stopped taking AA after 10 weeks due to bone pains then eventually started Strontium Ranelate, which unfortunately is nolonger available.

Several of my friends have been on AA for yrs without problems and have seen great improvements in their bones, although I personally wouldn’t take it for more than a few years because of the increased fracture risk if you take it too long.

Hi I have been on AA since April first few weeks had bad finger pain, all my finger have arthritis and lumps but after the first few weeks it subsided I still get a few niggles, like lynne H said I will ask for a dexa after probably two years see how my bones are I don't want to be on it for too long myself as Kaarina said if it occurs again then maybe you need to try something else good luck
