As the platform continues to grow and evolve, we’ve received feedback that there is an increasing need to add an additional level of access to community permissions. We’re therefore excited to introduce a new moderator role within communities, to work alongside admins to aid with moderation and maintaining community ethos. This additional badge will help you run your communities efficiently and smoothly by allowing permissions to be granted to the moderation capabilities in the post drop-down menu. The ready-to-go badges are now as follows:
Admin badge:
The classic. A feature of our communities from the start, the admin badge remains the same giving access to the general suite of admin tools, permission to assign admin or moderator badges, and the ability to access the full range of moderation functionalities.
Moderation badge:
A new built-in badge, the moderation badge gives you the option to add additional capacity for community monitoring from the post drop-down menu without giving access to the admin dashboard. The functions available to the moderator badge are as follows:
→ The ability to access the full post drop-down menu (editing or deleting posts/replies, turning off replies, pinning posts, restricting users)
→ The ability to receive reports of abuse notifications
