so sorry to read this ,so so young,can not begin to imagine your pain.
My heart goes out to you Shirley,you are in my thoughts and prayers. Can't imagine what you are going through at this very sad time xxx
MY SONS NAME WAS COLIN EVEN THE DOCTORS WERE SHOCKED THAT HE HAD COPD AT THAT AGE THEY TRYED EVERYTHING HE HAD A LUNG OPERATION LAST NOVEMBER AND SEEMED TO PICK UP BUT JANUARY HIS LUNG COLLAPSED HE PULLED THOUGH THEN ABOUT 7 WEEKS AGO HIS FEET SWELLED AND WENT BLACK THE HOSPITAL SAID THAT IT WAS HIS HEART FAILING HE CAME HOME AND COULD HARDLY WALK AND PASSED AWAY IN HIS SLEEP ON 23 MAY HE WAS ON HIS OXEGEN AND HIS HEART FAILED

Shirley, as a mum you have had to face our worst fear losing a child.
This life is but a blink of the eye but the deep waters of eternity are forever.
May peace enter your heart as you journey on this road of grief. Thank-you for sharing with us at this terrible time. I am sending you a cyber hug and hope as you think of all his childhood memories and as a young man you will have a smile through your tears. Your tears are so precious .......

I am so sorry for your loss, words do not bring him back, but I hope it comforts you to know we are all thinking of you. I have COPD, also brittle asthma. But my worst nightmare was 2 years ago when my son was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis in his lungs. He is 38. The damaged it has done cannot be reversed. He has just been referred to the Royal Brompton where we hope they can help as he has the chronic condition.
I can understand what you are going through as I live in fear, not for myself but for him. I have survived to age 60 against a lot of odds including collapsed lungs and even cancer. But this has rocked my world.
I shall keep you in my thoughts
dear shirley, i am so very sorry to hear of your sad loss, i was 38 when i was diagnosed, my mum died the year previous at 61, it must be heartbreaking for you, please feel free to chat anytime, this site has helped me and hopefully it will you as well love and best wishes xx
you must be feeling full of sorrow ..am so sorry to hear your dreadful news. reach out for all the love you can get - it helps in grief. Know that although it is hard to believe, that the pain will feel more bearable over time and your smiles at your son's memory will come more often. Take very good care of yourself. What would Colin be saying to you now ? maybe have a conversation wih him, that seems to help a friend of mine whose young son was killed.

Shirley having lost my son aged 16 i know just how you are feeling at this very sad time , please let others comfort you i understand the time you will also want to spend alone with your thoughts of your son as i did, i would like to say you get over it but i have to be honest and say you never will nobody ever gets over losing a child, you will move on and your son will always be with you, take care of yourself and think want your son would have wanted he im sure would not want you to be sad forever of that im sure , think of the good times it helps , most of all talk about him it helps so much, you are in my thoughts Shirley.
