Shortness of breath

Hi all, for the last 3 months I’ve been having shortness of breath and a really tight chest. It occasionally goes for about a day or two then comes back. I’ve had a Chest x-ray, an ECG, a blood test and an Astmha test and they have all come back fine. My GP said that it could be anxiety but I am convinced that is not the case. It’s really frustrating me now as I can’t remember the last time I could breath normally. My GP also said they don’t have much else to offer in terms of tests, so I don’t know what to do now. Can some one help me please :)

Right!theGP is at a loss, now is the time to see a decent respiratory consultant. As you have had all of these other tests the consultant should now do a ct scan.Only they can interpret them properly. Look on the internet for a good consultant in yourarea, take it to your GP and insist on a referral. They aren’t finding out what your problem is and you definitely have a problem. Don’t take no for an answer.

What would I type in on google to find this? “Respiratory consultants near me” ?

I would look at the nearest big teaching hospital and then look at their respiratory consultants or ask if any of our members in your area could pm you if they have a good consultant. I hope that you find one.

Take yourself into A&E they will investigate

A&E will deal with an emergency only then discharge you and recommend you see your GP. I don't think that is the best use of A&E's time when they are hard pressed to deal with life threatening emergencies.

If we ring our GP surgery it has a recorded message saying if you are having difficulty breathing hang up and call an ambulance. Most surgeries will send you to A&E if you can't breathe properly.

Did you have a ct scan of the lungs

With the dye? It shows lung & heart.

I wish you the best! God Bless, Beverly
