As long as you have friends and family around to help and don't be afraid to talk to to nurses and your GP they can guide you to the right places to go and who to talk to for advice. Ie have you had to give up work. How are you doing for money get some advice on what help is out there for you like pip universal credit. Do you have problems getting up stairs talk to social services they maybe able to help. Or talk to age concern. Or citizens advice they will point you in the right direction. They helped us. I had no choice but to give up work. I looked after children and i don't think my lungs would have stood it much longer chasing around after them. I do miss not working. But my friends come to see me and take me out. Hope you are feeling little more with it today.

Since I have been taking carbocisteine everyday my health has been much more easier too live with I don’t struggle as much and less pneumonia which I have had twice and sepsis but these tablets have no side effects with me I can be sure if I stopped I no dought would have died already my body keeps fighting this disease and keeps winning I guess my age kinda helps being 45 I tryed too walk up stairs but failed I’ll keep trying 😇

You could do what I did go up on your bum at least you can have a rest on the way up. But st least got to the to the top. But as I am getting worse hubby had a stair lift put in we bought a reconditioned one. If a miricale happens and they find a miricale cure. I can always have it removed.

I was thinking of a stairlift or just living upstairs and the only way too get better is too have a lung transplant I meet all requirements but still get refused I understand there’s cancer patients out there dying so I’m just glad too be alive

They are talking about coils with me for next year. Just got to build u my exercise. But since the copd I get worked up at the thought of going t a gym all the other people there so we have the chance of a treadmill of a friend see off I can build myself up. And then if I can do the 6 minute walk which I failed last year. So with the treadmill build up slowly my walking. So fingers crossed for next year.

Hi Joan,

Nice to meet you and the rest of you as I am new here too,

I have copd, I think I’m nearing the end of stage 2, I also lost my mum with copd 8 years ago so I kind of know how this ends, I think up until recently I have trying to be in denial, but now it’s getting worse I guess it’s time to start facing it. Xxx

Hi buster2

Welcome to the group, they are helpful and caring people in this group, and also other groups like the cholesterol group.

Sorry about your family Lose, must make it even harder for you, losing so many people with the same condition. I've gained confidence and knowledge about my health conditions , if hadn't joined the group, I would still be in the dark about treatment and help available out there. Don't think my doctor to pleased about me asking for all past medical reports.

And I've told him to tell other patients

about this site.

Best wishes
