Hello BLF friends,💕

I’m sick, my lungs are burning, trying to ignore it, popping in the pred, paracetamol and inhaling nebs and getting on with my day. The weather is lovely and all. It had to be 😉

I’m seeing the specialist on Tuesday anyway so I’ll wait for the checkup.

Bea’s been told to cook for Aria by the vet nutritionnist! I said that looks tasty: veal, oats and courgettes casserole. I mean this is Italy we are talking about 😃

She said Mum I fancy it for dinner too! I said so would I!!😋

Well Aria thought it was lovely, even with the tablets crushed in it 😜

Enjoy your weekend xx

Oh no Fran i think i may have jinxed you as last time i replied i said your very fit what with your swimming and other exercise you take part in ....you need to hurry and get better as arent you seeing the yoga guru soon or have you started seeing them already ,? I see the news has just done a little piece on lung transplants and that there are more people waiting now hoping that this will change when the law changes in 2020 so people will need to opt out if they dont want there organs donated after death ....to change the subject that cat of yours clearly eats healthy my cat will not eat anything other than his wet food ....whiskas only but he is very strange and has very strange habits ...i actually think he shud,ve been a dog his growl is so loud ...he was treated bad as a kitten so is very food selfish like this is mine stay away gggrrrr ha ha ! Oh hope you feel well soon Fran xxx luv your lam sis xxx💖💝Nice to see Aria in the pic xxxx

in reply to

Hi my dear Mel 💕

Thank you for your message 🌸

No you didn’t jinx me 😃

The eye specialist did lol

Actually not so bad today, so my little regime of nebs, pred, breathe deep and throat comfort teas with honey, this new self bronchial draining which makes me cough my heart out is working.

Although I walked into a cupboard door last night, knocked my head and contracted my back..I am useless, so the physio is coming for somebody else and I managed to get an appointment for 10am. That’s the advantage of being in the nursing home..I could get used to it..I think because of Bea being away, my lungs and my eyesight I will get an extension. I am allowed 90 days per year so told me the nurse.

Just had my porridge, a lovely fruit salad, hot coffee. The bathroom is all equipped for reduced mobility and a non-slippery floor. I feel safe here. Just have to remember closing the doors behind me 😃

I will attempt to post the Lam symposium slides in Cincinnati I received this weekend..very useful or if you wish to pm your mail because you and I are a rarity and it is specific.

Well cat eating habits are hard to change but somehow I think she knows Bea is trying to cure her, she must be fed up with vet testing just as we are going to hospital!!

How are you getting on Mel? 🌹

Love 💖

Fran xx

in reply to

The yoga guru is on the 18th!!! I’m looking forward to that!! Will tell you all about it 💖

in reply to

Glad you feel safe where you are plus with Bea and Aria travelling the globe its great timing to be there .... im ok although struggling very badly with headaches and ringing in ears plus other strange horrible pains ...i have been out of hospital now 3and a half weeks ...my consultant plus my discharge letter say i must have an urgent outpatient app within 2 weeks and if i dont get 1 i must ring Walton hospital to sort it which to my dismay i did on 2 occasions ...on 1st call i got totally fobbed off by office staff and 2nd time was told there was upto a 26 week wait which is absolutely ridiculous and very worrying so im gonna go see my gp or ring back walton and try to speak to perhaps someone else who is actually at least dealing with my case as i certainly am alot worse since leaving hospital and have once again not been out the house for the past 3 and a half weeks as my head kills ..... anyway at least im at home!!! Oh by the way Fran I really wish Anne would pop up on here 💝💖. Please do pm the notes when you get better xxxxx i know you got the physio at 10 so i will sign off now but you must really stop walking into cupboards ha ha only joking xxxxtake care love mel xxxx

in reply to

Sorry Mel just saw your 2nd message.

I’m so sorry it is awful you are not getting an appointment, phone back the consultant’s secretary and tell her what happened, or the hospital liaison.

I don’t know if I can pm they are slides I’ll try.

If you feel worse phone emergency again..

Lots of love 💖

Sorry to hear you are poorly Fran, it could have been the eye op, sometimes stress brings these things on, you dealt with it quickly so hope it doesnt last long and sounds like you are being very well looked after, wish we had places like this in the uk. Oh to be a cat, looks like it has royal treatment. Take good care. Irene x

in reply to Izb1

Hello my dear Irene,

Thank you 😊

Yes, you are right. Since being on daily steroids any physical/emotional stress affects my immune system it seems.

Prevention helps in the long run. I’m trying.

Well it is handy, like a hospice I suppose in the Uk, I could get used to it to the risk of getting institutionalised..still there is another sadder side as you can imagine..

Aria is doing better on her home cooked diet thank you 🌸🌺

Carbohydrates kill cats they cause diabetes and kidney stones, And motor neuron disease in dogs. After I heard this from a vet about dogs, I realised that this is what had happened to a former friends dog which she had rescued from Greece and had died of motor neurone disease in quarantine. They were giving it dry food. If you want to read about the horrors of vaccinating your animal read 'Who Killed The Darling Buds of May.' by Catherine O'Driscoll.

Happylondon, like your cat. Only greens ours like is grass. Sorry your lungs are giving you agro.

in reply to garibaldon

Hi Garibaldon, she eats grass too but I don’t know how she got so sick back in March some bacteria she picked up then too many antibiotics then steroids poor Aria..

anyway now they think it is gut flora and/or allergies and/or food intolerance or IBS..worst case scenario is a lymphoma but it happens in older cats and she is 6. So if nutrition fails she will have an endoscopy 6 weeks from now.

My lungs don’t seem so important..it is all relative..😃

Thank you 😊

in reply to

6 ,my cats lived well into their 20s. cats only eat grass to make themselves sick to get rid of fur balls. Get rid of carbohydrates like dry food.

dogs are different to cats, for example cats need taurine. Dogs can get away with eating things cats cant or shouldn't.

Yes the vet gave her taurine

What was your diagnosis? Have you tried hyperbaric oxygen, salt therapy, organic sulphur, pregnenolone, IV vitamin C or LDN? If you have COPD you cant get hyperbaric oxygen and you cant get any of these things on the NHS. LDN you can use with any drug except opioid type drugs. You can only get LDN on prescription from Clinic 158 in Glasgow. I take all of these things.

in reply to

😮 Wow I have lymphangioleiomyomatosis or LAM for short 😉a rare cystic lung disease anyway..Oh I have enough meds for sure, I have been using some natural health therapy for prevention and essential oils. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t 😊 then I go on heavy duty meds.

Thank you for your input.

in reply to

LDN or Low Dose Naltrexone seems to help a lot of people including those with cancer, fibromyalgia, MS, COPD as well as injuries. Salt therapy seems to help with allergies and some lung disorders including COPD, asthma etc as it clears mucus from the lungs. I have asbestos and I have also used zeolite.

Sorry you're not feeling too great Fran. I've lost touch a bit lately since hospital and can't visualise where you, Bea and Aria are. Are you still in the nursing home ? Aria doesn't look to be losing any weight and she's certainly tucking into that meal. Hope you feel better really soon, love to you all, Sheila xx

in reply to mskpjb

Hello Sheila,

How are you since being in hospital??

Yes I am still in the nursing home. Bea is working in Italy for a couple of months and so Aria followed. Aria is recovering quicker than Bea 😃

I am enjoying the break here despite the usual aches and pains. A caring place to be.

Take good care of yourself Sheila xx

Oh my ! Isn't it just our sort of luck,to come down with something and then we're back on the little devil pills. Hate the side effects but they do really help most people. I'll be thinking of you Tuesday when you're seeing the specialist. You are a very positive lady(oh I'm sure you dont always feel you are) and having a mental attitude has helped you through some tough times. Love the 5* cuisines Bea's cooking up for Aria. Looked and sounded quite appealing and I feel a tad hungry myself now!

Best wishes, rest up and keep popping those little devil pills for a few days.

Morning, may I be rude and ask how you got on with your Specialist on Tuesday? - I've not been able to shift my "cold/fever" even with all the usual meds; pred's,AB's,Neb's,vitamins, oxygen so still feel and look rather ill. Doctors visiting me!!!yes.....visiting me,well there's a first eh? I do hope you have started to feel better by now. With kind regards x

in reply to SquirrelsHolt

Hello Squirrel🐿

Basically it was a new guy and it was awful. I’m now in touch with my GP and the nurse. I wrote it somewhere I’ll copy and paste. Difficult to shift it yes same here.

in reply to SquirrelsHolt

Wednesday: Just had respi physio and I did well to ask apparently, she said I was starting a chest infection it could go either way, that I had to rest and drink a lot, take the rescue antibiotics if needed.

Well the consultant yesterday heard nothing and said it was a virus. He didn’t want to know when I said I don’t recover by myself anymore, I always end up with complications. He said come back if you get worse..the usual..

in reply to SquirrelsHolt

Thursday: my back is just too painful..I wrote an email this morning putting my GP in copy explaining that I am aware that 90% of respiratory problems are viruses but in my case I always get a secondary infection and I am not ready to rupture a cyst and cough blood like last month.

And finally today Squirrel🐿 Had respi physio again, she wasn’t happy, talked to the GP and I have just had a sputum test. Then they will decide if I must have abs. She put me on the list for weekend physio so I will have somebody coming to my room I expect as I am still in the nursing home.

It goes on and on as always..

Hope you feel better soon our dear friend.

Take care

Fran x

OMG !!! You poor girl. At least you were able to find the strength to send off the emails and how blinking useless was that Consultant who said it was just a virus. Some of these Specialist's just dont take on board, that after years of being Ill with whichever illness we've had/still got, that we know our own bodies so well, that we know what meds we need and just a check of the usual bp ,O2 saturation levels etc and praying for a miracle new medicine that could bring us back from the depths if despair. I hope I've not gone over board here but it gets my goat when we are put on a waiting list only to find it wasn't worth the wait!! Thank God you are receiving some good physio whilst in your "temporary" home. I can imagine its all very nice and costs a fortune but you couldn't be at home whilst decorating was going on. Imagine the dust and smell of paint in your lungs! How's Bea coping with Aria....they both must be missing you so much. Please dont feel you've to reply straight away....do it when you've regained some strength. I wish you well, you sound like such a lovely lady. Best wishes x

in reply to SquirrelsHolt

Very kind of you Squirrels 😊

Thank goodness for smartphones 😃

It’s not as bad as it sounds, it is just another chest something. I have this lung cystic disease so it goes with the territory..

The specialist is a different matter as you said some are more concerned and caring than others.

No don’t worry Squirrels I was sent here by my GP. I organised the work during my eye op and convalescence so I knew I would have a place to stay.

But it is very nice. Dad was here after he had his colostomy, so I got to know the place and the people.

We have a local pulmonology hospital, they deal with physio and pulmonary rehabilitation. It is a coincidence that it is in my town because it deals with the whole county.

Bea and Aria are glad of the break, the Italian food and lifestyle, thank you 😊

Wishing you well x

Crikey, I wouldn’t call 6 old. We had one 24. Samantha’s 17.

in reply to garibaldon

Yes our last one was 20..😢

Hello Pet, I hate to tell you this, but cats are not made for this type of food except for the veal. Carbohydrates kill cats and lead to kidney stones which are excruciatingly painful for them. Cats are total carnivores. Don't take my word for it, look up Doctor Karen Becker from the USA on you tube. Not only that, carbohydrates make them obese. I took my cat off dry cat food months ago and the transformation was incredible. Every time I go to the vet and its not often, I cringe when I see all the carbohydrate dry food they are selling at an astronomical price, vets are like doctors they no nothing about diet. I have to take my wife to different hospitals 3 times a week and all I see are obese nurses and doctors. On Thursday while I was waiting for my wife five nurses past me and to say they were obese is an understatement. Her liver specialist though a good 20 years younger than myself was so fat he could hardly walk or breath. And was covered in psoriasis I didn't want to embarrass him by telling him how to get rid of it - simple, diet.
