Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone else has the same problem as I do. When I start to do something I sweat a lot, looks like I have been in the shower as hair is wet through. I also have an oleo story as well as bronch. Any thoughts about this please.

Hi Southp, it seems I am not alone with this problem. Thought it was due to antibiotics, not on them at present and it is still happening.

I was just wondering this myself. I have to walk 10 to get a train to work and by the time I get on the train my face is wet!! I sweat more than other people too. I never used to be like this.

Hi Lealee, I am 64 was thinking it could be hormonal but it seems I am not alone. Really annoys me.

I’m 37 and I feel like I’m having hot flushes. Definately not hormonal, I think it has something to do with the pollen count and heat making our bodies work harder to breath x

Me too, with COPD. Couldn't understand why sweat drips from my hair with the least bit of exertion in this hot weather. Thankfully it's a lot cooler with the rain today.

Hi, it happens in all weathers but is worse in hot weather. It seems I am not alone with this problem.

Hi there

This is only from what I've experienced over 2/3yrs. Night sweats and like you say , my forehead would be dripping wet even after doing something very simple. To get to my point... My doctor said try HRT and I'm now on my 2nd type which, fingers crossed seems to be making some difference. I have to wait a bit longer for my body to regulate the HRT. There are risks with it and any good Doctor would explain this to you. I'm aged 55, nearly 56 but my mother had her menopause when she was just 40,so I expected to also be "an early one"! Its definitely worth having a blood test to see if HRT can help you.

Best of luck.x

Hi, thanks for that. GP will not let me have HRT due to blood pressure. Guess I am just going to have to put up with it.

Oh I'm sorry if I made it sound like HRT is the answer because for many, many women they dont need HRT and possibly find either alternative remedies or other medicines. I hope you find something to help you very soon- I mean as if its not bad enough dealing with the heat...then that on top. Not a pleasant experience. I wish you well.

No that's okay, many thanks for the good wishes.

As you can't use HRT, investigate eating soy and soya products, tofu and tempeh. These can help naturally because they contain phyto-oestrogens which may ease symptoms a little without giving the regular big hit of HRT meds.

Thank you I might try that, a natural way to try to sort it.

OH has asthma/bronchiectasis and nearly always takes a spare shirt when we go anywhere because he sweats a lot too. I don't know why. He has difficulty controlling his body temperature and is often cold but he is getting on in years now and has other illnesses.

Hi Bella, oh that sounds worse than me. It seems that I am not alone with this problem. Just wondered if there was a connection with Bronch. Fed up with it now.

Gosh I’m fed up with hot do’s. I have thought it was because I’m female and 64. Had them for years. Could be linked to my asthma/bronchiestasis

I have that condition, finally had the ileostomy op made life a lot easier. Just wish Bronch was easier to live with.

I sweat a lot more these days - never thought about any connection except from the point of view that showering is an effort and I need to sit down after it. Could be to do with meds, I suppose. xx Moy

Hi Moy, it seems others are suffering with this too. Thought it might be melds but not on antibiotics at present and still getting them.

Hi chrissy314, I have been like this since I was 40 before any conditions started, I am now 66 and still suffering, think it must be an inbalance in hormones, which can affect both male and female. Perhaps there is something in your meds that affects your hormones, check with your doctor as a blood test can show this. Irene x

Have bloods done annually not sure if they check the hormones will ask next time I am due for check up.
