Hello everyone would been really gratfull if anyone can give me advice on pleurisy had it now for 3 weeks

Hi Bisso

So sorry you are suffering with pleurisy. I had it a couple of times. It is quite painful. Rest, fluids, hot water bottle on pain.

Hi, I can only sympathise as I've had it too. So very painful. It does take a while to clear, mine on occasion led to pneumonia. Have you been back to doc?

Hi peege Going bk to the doctors on Tuesday been of work 3 weeks now and as im a postman just need to get better soon and make sure im fully fit

Don’t rush back to work bisso, I was a teacher then it took a lot of out me to go back to work, didn’t help, lasted longer..

Seeing the doctor Tuesday going to ask for another 2 weeks

Yes good idea, see if he checks your chest again and ask for another xray if you don’t feel tops xx

hi bisso sorry to hear you have pleurisy - I used a hot water bottle and a pillow to put where the pain was most- I believe sun and heat can help too- years ago a doctor advised sun bed treatment but maybe not a good idea with the threat of cancer around sunbeds. It is very painful so rest and drink plenty of fluids. Hope you're feeling better soon. x
