My GP said that it can be kept in the fridge for a while.i.e overnight.I suppose it's the fresher the better.

I always have 2 or 3 Specimen Pots in my cupboard alongside my C.O.P.D. rescue pack.

If I have an Exacerbation or a change in the Colour, Consitency or Volume of my sputum, I save a sample and pop it into the surgery as soon as possible.

My consultant wanted three consecutive days samples and said to store in fridge and take all in at the same time so keep for two or three days.
