Pseudomonas can also be treated by long term nebulised colomycin.

Once you have pseudomonas in your lungs, you cannot get rid of it. It will be there to varying degrees and occasionally will require hospitalisation or home visits for intravenous antibiotics to calm it down. I take Azithromycin Mon,Wed,Fri which helps a lot. Because it lives with you and dominates sputum tests, it is hard to know when you have a different or additional virus. If you have a good g.p. it helps, they may allow you an antibiotic on repeat prescription for when "you think you have a different virus!. You can tell by taste or quantity or colour of sputum. Hope this helps.
