I went to see a chest specialist who says I have mild to moderate ILD possibly due to Rhuematoid Arthritis or the Methotrexate I take for it. Methotrexate stopped now just on Humira . Pulmonary Function tests on lower edge of normal . He says see again in 4 months so don't know what happens next

Thanks for your help

Hi, Kath. You must be relieved that your pulmonary function tests are in the normal range. Hope that the new regime still works for you.

My husband has psoriatic arthritis. He was on humira and methotrexate. They stopped both as he developed a lung condition where part of a lung collapsed. He then had a CT scan to see why. Fortunately the result showed nothing "sinister " but he has been referred to a respiratory specialist now and we are waiting for an appointment. My point is, they stopped the drugs as they may have played a part in the development of this new lung condition. They don't tell you this before you start biologics but ofcourse not everyone will have this side effect.
