A little advice please.

I have been a asthmatic for as long as I can remember, evan as a child my chest was always my week spot. On New Year's Day I started with a rotten chest infection, doxycycline and steroids. I had to go back the following week for another dose. My GP sent me for a chest X-Ray, it came back saying they want to do another X-Ray in a month, as it was showing patchy changes. Has anyone else had this sort of result. I am nearly 2 years stopped smoking. Thanks love Marie.

Hi Marie. So for me patchy changes is a very vague descriptions that the dr. Gave you. I would ask for a more definitive answer. Good luck

Hi Marie, I've had this scenario too. If an infection is seen on an X-ray then it's normal to repeat to make sure the antibiotics have worked and cleared it, If not they can then decide if different antibiotics or treatment is needed. Easier said then done but try not to worry xx Sonia xx

Hello Marie,

I'd want to know what the term "patchy changes" meant. They really shouldn't do this. We need to know, otherwise it's a worry.. when you aren't feeling at your best anyway.

I did ask Dr what was meant by patchy changes, and he said the radiologist needs a second look. I must ry to diet as well, it's hard as I have osteoarthritis in my knee, so exercise is hit and miss. I feel since I stopped smoking I have fallen apart. Thank you for replying. Love Marie. Xxxx

Maybe after the next scan/xray ask if you have any sign of fungal infection and if so what is being done to treat it or manage it? Don't be too easily put off. It should be about patient empowerment!

Anyone who is taking prednisone or similar, should take something to protect their bones.
