I am devastated to have to tell you all that Puff (Dave) died in the early hours of this morning.
It is a terrible shock to all of us who knew him.
He had been ill recently but had seemed to be recovering well. He was away from home visiting his children when he was taken ill with pneumonia and hospitalised yesterday..
He loved talking to his friends on BLF and I think he was appreciated by everyone who read his messages and posts. A lovely man. I will miss him enormously, as will his lady, Theotherdragon.
RIP

I'm devastated too Toci. He seemed upbeat and to be improving. He was very helpful to me and many many others. He will be missed greatly. Condolences to Family and friends.
I am very sorry to hear the news, Puff was a great contributator to this forum and will be missed by many of us. My thoughts and commiserations to his family and friends at this sad time.
I am so so sorry to hear this sad news. Was helpful and welcoming, only knew him from here for a short time. My condolences to his family, he will be missed.
I cannot believe this sad news. Puff seemed to be picking up and I was 'talking' to him a couple of days ago when he said he was going to visit his children.
so shocked and sorry to hear this news. Feels like we have lost a dear friend, even though we never met. How fragile we are, condolences to you and the children. Love Iris x
What terrible news Toci, but thank you for letting us know. I used to meet Puff at P.R and we kept in touch. My heart goes out to Ton and his family. A sad loss of a valuable member. xx
Such dreadful news Toci and so very sad and sudden. Puff was a great contributor to the site and will be very sadly missed. Heartfelt sympathies to his family and especially to the Other Dragon.
I can't believe this - Puff was only posting at the weekend Im sure. How truly dreadful, such a loss to everyone, his family, especially TOD, and to us here - he was such a great contributor, people across the world who never met him in person will be reeling at this sudden news.
Rest in peace Puff and sincere condolences to your family. xxx jean

Carole xx
Oh no I had no idea he was that ill. Poor Dave, he will be missed on here. Can you pass on my love to the other dragon and his family please Toci and thanks for letting us know.
I,m so very sorry to be reading this Toci, Dave & TOD were very kind to me when I was at my lowest, I shall miss "hearing" his voice here, always sensible, often funny, & very supportive of those who floundered round at a loss with a diagnosis of this awful disease
Please pass my deepest condolances to TOD & family
Deeply upsetting news. Puff was such a rock to a lot of people, to TheOtherDragon and all his friends on various sites he used. He will be greatly missed.
Ton (theotherdragon, Puff's partner), can read your comments but not reply so has asked me to pass on this message:
Thank you to everyone who has written in this thread, it means a lot to me to read your messages, Dave would have been so proud and happy to think that he had meant so much to so many people.
Dave was the sort of person who would do anything to help if he thought someone was in trouble, or scared, or needed some sort of help. He lived for me, his children, his job, his boat, his dog, his birds, and BLF. Not necessarily in that order. We will all miss him greatly.
Lost for words, can't believe it, love to all who knew and loved him, which I'm sure are many, so very sad, will light a candle to see him on his way xxxxx
Shockingly sad news, only knew him a short time but will miss all his comments on this site as will everyone. My condolences go to his family and friends. Tina. xx
Didn't know Puff as well as my good friend Gordon, but still shocked to hear this sad news come out of the blue. A great thinker and contributor to this site and will be massively missed. Sincere thoughts to his partner and family.
I never 'met' puff properly but it was his posts and my reading of them that gave me the courage to join the site. He seems to have been a very special person. R.I.P.
Oh no I am so sorry to hear this, what a fantastic person very helpful when I first joined this site after my diagnoses, my sincere condolences to his wife and family 😢
What a shock, a lovely man who was always very positive and ready to help anyone who needed any advice. I'm sure he was on the site only a few days ago, I can't believe it. Please extend my deepest sympathy to his family.
What a shock to hear this devastating news about our own dear Puff. He seemed to be doing so well of late.
He was always very supportive to members here, especially newbies and talked a great deal of sense. He will be sadly missed.
TOD - Please accept my sincere condolences to you and your family of the passing of your dear Husband and Father. It must be of some comfort to you to know he was much loved and admired by so many. May you have strength during this most difficult time. I imagine you must have so many happy memories of the times you have spent together.
With love

Thank you Toci - it can't have been easy to post this sad news. xxx
May I add my belated condolences to The Other dragon and family and friends of Puff. Puff was only wishing me well on coming out of hospital at the weekend. A lovely man who always managed to see three sides to every thing. Who found the time to inject just the right words of advise to help things back on track.
Puff will be missed here by his extended friends and family too. Of that it is certain. I hope that the celebration of his life helps to ease the sorrow that you must all be feeling.
Thank you Toci for bearing the sad tidings. RIP Puff.
So sorry to hear Puffthemagicdragon has passed away. He was very kind and helpful to me when I first joined this site very distressed, as my mum was very poorly and we lost her a few weeks later. I thought his name on here was brilliant and one that always brought a smile. RIP.
So sorry to hear this, it is amazing how quickly our struggles can end when we would like to go on struggling! I don't post often but when I did Puff was always one of the regulars that came back to me! Be strong TOD my feelings go out to you. This is one post I won't finish with 'keep smiling'.

Farewell to a gentle man, one who always had the right words to help others and give them the courage he had in abundance. I followed the site for months before posting and it was Puff who gave me the courage to contribute.
So so sad. He was always helpful and perked me up on several occasions. RIP lovely man you will be missed by many. My condolences to his family and friends (which I am sure were many) xxxx

TOD, your Puff will not be forgotten in a hurry. He's was a good, fair man, a friend and brilliant support to hundreds here. Such kindness across the board to members new and old. In short, a legend, a man who made a difference.
When he's been so loved here I cannot imagine what you are all going through. All my love
Hello everyone, I am Dave's (puffthemagicdragon) daughter we just want to thank you all for you kind and thoughtful messages it brings us; his family great happiness to know that he helped so many. He was a strong man and determined not to give up.
I would like to let you all know I have printed off these heartfelt messages and will put them with him tomorrow when we say our final goodbyes.
Thank you all again and please stay strong for one another.
We would also like to take this chance to thank his partner for the support and love she gave him and the support she is giving us now.
I am so so sad to read this. And so sad I didn't catch up with him before it was too late. A truly wonderful gentleman. He 'saved' me when I most needed it.
