Morning - I haven't had one personally but my brother in law had one last week and he reported that it wasn't that bad, he said it wasn't pleasant but was not painful or as bad as he had feared. Please talk to the nurses/doctors and explain how scared you are. I am sure you will be fine, let us know how you get on. Good Luck TAD xx

Ive had one Sheepdog - it wasn't too bad for me though it only went down halfway and discovered a cyst in my oesophagus which was later removed.

Endoscopies that go right down to the stomach have been a problem for me because of gagging but most people don't find them difficult. As TADAW says, there isn't any pain. I had sedation for my second one which was via the mouth and it was absolutely no problem at all, i couldn't believe it was over so quick. If you are worried about it you should ask your GP - you could ask if sedation would be appropriate for you. All the best.

Hi Sheepdog

I had a nasendoscopy last month and did not find the procedure at all bad. The consultant sprayed both nostrils with an anesthetic before he inserted the camera I did not feel a thing as he examined my voice box and oesophagus and viewing the pictures afterwards was quite an experience. I could see my voice box in operation and the reflux bubbling away along with a hiatus hernia. Would be quite happy to go through it again.

Hope it goes well.
