Not really teaky, they're courses and they need to be completed to get the proper benefit, although given your stomach probs you have to wonder how much of them is actually getting a chance to do their job. I may be wrong, but I think the red coated steroids seem to be tolerated by the stomach better than the white plain ones. I'd give the BLF helpline a ring and ask their advice. Andy

No - go the full course. You may need those extra couple of days to really see the infection off. Plus steroids can give you a false sense of well being sometimes...

I would advise you do keep taking the antibiotics its not good to stop before the end of the course. Try to some live yoghurt or drink that may help. Only 2 days to go. Hope you continue to feel much better. TAD xx

thanks for advice shall ask doc for enteric coated steroids for emergency pack see her next week as I suffer from irritable syndrome

Noooooo! Take all of the antibiotics as it is so important. They do upset the stomach a bit but that will cease once you have taken the course. Feel better and stay well. xxxx

Defo no you really need to complete a course if antibiotics. You may feel better but if the bugs haven't been hit for six they could come back with avengance, also not completing abs can cause the bugs to become resistant.

not long to go hun - good luck.

Hi Teaky19

I agree with all the others, you have to finish the course. Write down the name of the antibiotics you are on. Next time when the doctor wants to give you some antibiotics tell him which antibiotic you are allergic to. There is a choice of antibiotic out there and not all of them should give you tummy troubles. Good luck and feel better soon.

Regards

Mandy

I agree with everyone else-you must finish the course. I only have a limited range of antibiotics that I can take since I'm allergic to penicillin. However one of the remaining group I can take gives me diarrhoea so I now avoid this one and my doctor prescribes an alternative for my emergency pack.

best wishes Maggie

My respiratory nurse advised me to take a probiotic such as actimal when I am on antibiotics as they replace the good germs in the gut that the antibiotics kill off when they they getting rid of the bad ones, this is what upsets the stomac, it does help. Keep smiling
