I have my results.

I have now got the results from my spiro test. I have Restrictive Lung Disease. I was shown the graph and both tests were so close it was negligible. The doctor said that they were all consistently lower than the lowest normal limit. This gives me 53% Lung function. He also concurred that I do have scarring to the inside and outside of my lungs. He has put me on water tablets to see if that will help me when I am flat or sleeping for one month? After that I will see him again to see were we need to go with regards the Pace and Ablate my cardiologist wants me to have and further actions to my Lungs?

At last your lung doc and heart doc are joint thinking which must be a good thing.

Results at last, its a relief to know the diagnosis after months of not knowing, I always thought the not knowing was more worrying than the knowing, at least with diagnosis treatment plans can be put into effect.

From what he told me obstructive is a little easier to ease than restrictive. salbutamol showed no real improvement in the test. Still dreading the cold days to come.

Hi Offcut - at least you know now!! The worrying is awful and doesn't help at all - we are all dreading the winter. That's all my husband seems to say!!! But don't let the dread/ fear affect your life now. Enjoy each day while you can and when it gets cold just adapt your days so you are comfortable.
