Came home from having lunch out with my sister and great niece who is home from Afghanistan for a little R&R(she works for the N.A.A.F.I ) and thought that I would just log on and see how no-wheeze is doing with her fight with the killer weed.After trying right up to midnight I finally gave up and went to bed. Reporting for Duty .... Day 9.... still no nicotine ..... Hooray. Honestly, it's not because I'd slipped, I stopped blogging, but the site was rather temperamental yesterday, and I'm trying to avoid stressful situations. Also, since I've cleared one full week, I'd rather not bore people with my daily challenges and achievements .... Thinking positive here, and seeing only achievements 
I'll keep you up to date with a weekly blog instead

Well done nowheeze, you wont bore us we are all in this together. Over three months for me now, and still think of smoking when upset or fed up. Not an easy road to travel but hope we all get there eventually. xx
Hi Nixy. Kudos to you for 3 moths +. I'm still quite novice at this - did it before with a nicotine crutch, but this cold turkey is proving easier than I thought. But don't get me wrong, I'm not dropping my guard. I know stress, especially emotional stress is one of my triggers, so I'm avoiding and ignoring all stressful people who attempt to enter my life.... Let's keep up this good work of giving up the white sticky things

Well done to you too Nixy .It is 20 months since I stopped and I really fancied one yesterday until my Greatniece went out to my garden to have one then it really put me off again she said that she wants to stop but because there is nothing else to do in Afghanistan she is smoking 40 a day .Also they are very cheap to buy out there. I gave her the patches that I had but didn't use when I stopped but I don't hold out much hope.

Since I hit the one year mark, if people ask I now say I don't smoke. I used to say I was an ex smoker too, and that's fine, but it's great to say 'I don't smoke'. I never thought I would be able to do that.

Well I dont call myself ex smoker I am a non smoker. have been since the day I gave up (again lol) I really admire people that can do it cold turkey, how they manage it I will never know, something onwards and upwards peeps xxto do with me having a crutch to lean on I suppose. Have used patches and champix lots of times in the past, champix at the mo. Worried what will happen when I finish the champix though. Still think about the rotten fags, but things are getting better.Weneed to be on our guard at all times. I was painting the bathroom and was so fed up all I could think of was you know what....Luckily I was painting in old pyjamas and looked a mess and had I looked half decent I may well have gone to the shop, yes it was that bad. Over it now so onwards and upwards peeps xx
