Troponin Levels

Hello,
Welcome to the forum.
A Myocardial Infarction non obstructive coronary arteries, MINOCA is the cause of about 10% of heart attacks.
There are several possible causes of a MINOCA.
Microvascular dysfunction, coronary vasospasms, spontaneous coronary artery dissection SCAD, a small piece of plaque breaking off or a blood clot blocking a coronary artery.
This type of heart attack is becoming more recognised, however there is still some uncertainty about the treatment and management.
The recommendation is that a cardiac perfusion MRI is offered to look at the heart muscle itself.
Inflammatory conditions like myocarditis can mimic MINOCA.
Many years ago , I was admitted to hospital with a suspected heart attack. I was incorrectly told I couldn't have angina or a heart attack because my coronary arteries are unblocked.
I was later diagnosed with vasospastic angina following a specialised angiogram.
I suggest you ask your Cardiology team to consider whether microvascular dysfunction or vasospastic angina are the possible cause of your heart attack.
It's important to know why you had your heart attack so you can be offered the appropriate treatment.
I acknowledge it's challenging to come to terms with a type of heart attack and angina that few professionals understand.
This information maybe helpful, it's from a website recommended as a resource by the BHF.
When I was admitted to hospital for a week in January my troponin level was 170. Had A fib for 4 days. Had angiography and only found slight furring in my right artery. No heart attack . At outpatients my cardiologist put me on Atorvastatin was already on Flecainide, Apixaban for PAF and Ramipril which had been on for years. Decided I hadn't had heart attack . So referred me to stroke neurologist even thought stroke nurse and brain CT scan ruled it out first day.
Stroke neurologist thought it was a migraine but had CT with dye on the arteries in my neck and results where clear. So conclusion I had a migraine. I have never had one before. But due to my rare hereditary neurological condition it confuses things as it took my speech for a few hours.
I thought I kept falling asleep over the first 4 days due to being attached to a machine my BP went very low and I was passing out which was recorded on the machine .
Couldn't fault the care I had spilt over 2 hospitals as in patient and just my normal hospital for outpatients.
But still don't really understand what happened. All it started out was with really bad headache at 3am and the co codamol didn't take the pain away and got a pain left side of my neck and my speech went .
My question is did you have a heart attack with your lower troponin levels than mine as confused why I didn't? I did ask my cardiologist and he said he didn't know why I didn't.
you didnt say what the measurements system was . Ng/l up to 20
