My husband is doing well after being diagnosed with heart failure but complains of experiencing brain fog during the day . He takes amlodipine ,apixaban , Entresto digoxin , eplerenone , dapagliflozin , simvastin and finesteride . We are enjoying a good quality of life again . But I was wondering if anyone else experiences daily brain fog ? Thank you Marilyn

brain fog

Hi Marilyn,
This nay or may not be relevant, but I had brain fog when I was prescribed Amlodipine. It found it rather difficult to function properly which was serious for me as a self-employed professional. I got my GP to change my medication and the situation quickly righted itself. Certainly a medication review for your husband would appear to be in order.
I hope he gets sorted soon.

I had terrible cognitive impairment (amogst other symptoms ) early months post 4x bypass surgery, was on artovastatin 80g, pantaprazole , clopidogrel, aspirin, Bisoprolol 3.5mg . Stopped artovastatin and felt fantastic for a couple of months , then tried pravastatin 40mg and the zombie spaced out episodes returned within a week , then tried 10mg Rosuvastatin and been fine plus reduced bisoprolol to 1.25mg. GP thought my statin was interacting with other meds . My pharmacist was very supportive during this period , she helped get appointments and changes in meds.
From what I have read some statins cause brain fog.
Hi, I was on Dapagliflozin 10mg for a brief period back in 2021. It was discontinued due to my getting up around 20 times a night to pass urine. Hope this answers your question. Best wishes. Ann.
I’m 6 months post HA and stent suffered with all sorts of weird side effects for months which were due to cocktail of meds . Still not completely identified which one however try adjusting times of taking them it’s trial and error in my experience . There are significant number of posts and experiences on here dealing with every conceivable med
Pleased to say 6 months on most appear to have receded . Still have off days but recovery I’m told not a linear process .
thank you
