takotsubo cardiomyopathy

Follow-up care can be very variable and may depend on how your case has been prioritised and the available resources.
Theoretically you should get a follow-up echocardiogram and in some cases an MRI at 12 weeks, or thereabouts, with a cardiology appointment soon afterwards - in some cases there is a review at 6 months, but a lot depends on how well you have progressed, whether or not you have experienced complications and, again, local circumstances
There is still no agreed protocol for follow-up after Takotsubo, so a lot might depend on the levels of experience and interest in Takotsubo among your cardiology team
Meanwhile keep track of any symptoms you are still experiencing and are concerned about so that you can report this at follow-up or with your GP
The GP should carry out an annual Heart Failure review. Mine is due tomorrow for Dilated Cardiomyopathy. May I suggest you make an appointment with your GP to discuss this and make sure they're aware of the discharge into their care? That's if GP appointments aren't as rare as hen's teeth! My GP had a letter from the hospital saying they were discharging me into their care, copy to me
