hello…my Rosvarostatin has recently been increased from 20 mg to 40 mg daily, with the addition of Ezitrol . I have definitely noticed more achiness in my legs, restless feeling very tired upon waking. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if it gets better. Thank you

As you are probably aware, the most commonly reported side effect from taking statins (at least reported on here it seems) are muscle aches and pains, and it sounds like that is what you are now experiencing with the increased dose of rosuvastatin. You could see how it goes, and it may get to be tolerable (as some people report) but it may not, so you then have the option of going back to your GP, who may be able to offer another statin for you to try which may not give a side effect, or perhaps reduce the rosuvastatin dose. I take 80mg Atorvastatin and 10mg Ezetimibe (alias Ezetrol) and fortunately for me I don't get any side effects. Hope you get sorted.

Thank you for replying . It has been about 3 weeks since the increase and addition of ezetimibe so I will have to wait it out and see if it improves . I was previously on Lipitor but changed to Crestor as it had fewer reported side effects , such as muscle pain .

Rosuvastatin is the only statin I’ve tried so far that works for me, the others have caused severe leg pains and mobility issues so Atorvastatin and Simvastatin are off the table for me. I’m on 5mg of Rosuvastatin and 10mg of Ezetimibe daily.

Thank you for your reply . my understanding is that Rosuvastatin is the best for the least side effects . I was fine until my dose was increased and ezetimbe was added. Im assuming it’s the statin causing the pain.

I have been talking rosuvastatins for nearly a year and have not had any significant side effects. Ask your GP if there is an alternative. Good luck.

I don't take statins but have heard from others who do that CoQ10 supplements can be helpful with some of the side effects

thank you for reminding, me I had forgotten about that supplement . It was something that I had asked about when I began this journey and was told by the cardiologist that it was probably a waste of money, it’s expensive, but it won’t hurt. I may give it a
