Discomfort in middle of chest when indoor rowing.

hi,

I am fairly fit chap, have been actively rowing and walking since my diagnosis of CAD 2yrs ago and turned my life around for the better. Whilst I have the odd chest pain now and again, typically it is not during physical exertion.

However, lately I have been sensing tightness in the middle of chest during my rowing sessions , which I have not experienced before. Physical intensity is at 80% of Max HR and sessions are for 10min.

The discomfort is mild and goes away at rest. I am guessing it some form of mild angina.

Just curious as to why this has appeared out of the blue. I was on a roll, have lost weight, healthy eating and now this 😵‍💫

It was not an issue before. Anyone with similar experience?

It does sound like angina since the pain. Recedes at rest. There might be a postural element to it. Lots of people suggest that bending forward brings on chest discomfort, ectopics and arrythmias.

you can wash the car and regularly maintain it, that doesn’t mean you won’t get a puncture 😁

Important just to get it checked out, very important that you are doing a great job in looking after yourself through dietary and physical ‘maintenance’

You are doing very well with what you are doing. It may be nothing but it is best to get a doctor or cardiologist to check it out. Some of it may be age related maybe although I don't know your age.
