Some cardiologists would first recommend a screening treadmill stress test and,if abnormal, proceed to an angiogram. If you have very suspicious symptoms of a blockage in the coronary circulation, they will skip the stress test& go to the angiogram. Others seem more aggressive and proceed directly to an angiogram even if you have no suspicious symptoms of a significant blockage in the coronary circulation. They may discuss these options with you first.
It depends on the cardiologist and degree of blockage. My brother had mild CAD; no angiogram, just a higher dose of statins. (he was already on them). I OTOH had severe CAD and went right to angiogram, followed by stents...but if reported as "mild" I think you should be optimistic...
It strikes me that any excuse to up the dosage of said drug will do. They don't seem content until people are on the highest dose possible. Just my thoughts...
