I had open heart surgery two years ago and have recently been getting dull pain in my chest and strong palpitations, along with very strong pulsations and twitches in my blood vessels. This is particularly noticeable in my wrist, neck and legs.
Has anyone ever experienced this?
thank you.

I had AVR by OHS 2 years ago and improved well for 6 months before chest pain, palpitations, and shortness of breath returned. I'm constantly aware of my heart beat in ears, eyes and abdomen & vessels. I can't get away from the noise!
My latest echo shows turbulent flow & moderate obstruction of the new valve (patient prosthetic mismatch), new moderate mitral valve regurgitation, new moderate tricuspid regurgitation, greater dilation of my ascending aortic and concentric remodelling of left venticle with hypokinesis. I'm now waiting to hear back from my cardiologist following his discussions with the surgeon.
Hi....having had valve surgery myself I was told that if I had anything like palpitations, fast heart rate or any other concerns to contact the heart nurse or clinic for advice. If you are able to do that I would think it best to at least chat to someone about it to put your mind at ease. I had an infection after surgery and was in hospital for for weeks but then 3 months after surgery was hospitalised again after I became concerned about other issues regarding my heart. I wouldn't hesitate now in getting things checked out if I had anything that was bothering me. Your concerns might not be anything to worry about but I would certainly ask for advice or direction if I were you. Take care xx
