My decline in health began around 1999. The symptoms were significant and by April 2000 I was being advised to let my family know that my time might be short. It turned out that I had Addison's Disease (nhs.uk/conditions/addisons-.... My life was saved by taking a couple of pills.
Since then I have been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, Type 2 Diabetes, and Heart Failure. Then, four days ago, I had Atrial Fibrillation added to the list. I was discharged from the hospital with some anti-coagulants and told someone would be in touch in the next couple of weeks.
I am trying to be calm and accept that things will settle down and that I will soon be able to get back to cycling, gardening, etc. But it's not that simple, is it?
Having several conditions which could, in theory, kill me is never a good thing, but...

Every day above ground is a bonus. Life doesn't play fair and doesn't explain either. You have more than your fair share, but you can cope and overcome what can be managed. Good luck and stay strong
Oh dear. I empathise with you as have many crazy diseases/overlaps too. It's a shock when first diagnosed but then you will find plenty of others have it worse so can be grateful again. Try to eat healthily, excersise..don't overdo it, keep up with friends and interests and be grateful it's not worse. Your friends and family need you so stay strong and positive. Oh..with AFib..stop fizzy drinks..I cured myself of that by stopping drinking Diet Coke 2 Litres daily!! All the best
