Advice please on blocked arteries after stenting and bypass

95pc blockage , stent put in . Great results for 3 months then re blocked .

Second stent procedure but balloon burst and it took two hours to clear initiating a heart attack .

Stent blocked again after 3 months and bypass procedure.

2 years later bypass of LAD blocking at each end . The join at bottom of bypass is curved and advised that it can’t be unblocked with angioplasty as they can’t bend the wire round .

I live in Northern Scotland but would like to know if there are any procedures that could help .

If you can, see a London cardiologist - may have greater expertise. Check out the consultant who gave me six stents and saved me - Dr Suk Nijjer. imperial.nhs.uk/consultant-...

Although no doubt well intended community rules ask to avoid mentioning health professionals by name, see under 'Anonymity'

Thank you - had decided London route seemed to open more options but no idea how to proceed . Our only option in Scotland seems to be medication.

Best is to go private if possible. Means researching the cardiologists at the main London hospitals, selecting one and being prepared to pay for an initial consultation, tests. and a follow-up consultation.

I’ve had a look at one or two . I suffer from scar tissue build up on where the new arteries are attached and this will eventually become so thick that blood can’t get through . 1 in 4 suffer from this . Will def follow London route

Hi Flahback,

I can't really advise much, I had 1x stent fitted after my heart attack (MI) Aug 2019 in St Thomas' hospital, I haven't had any problems since.

hello I have had a stent 2019 after a heart attack and then a further heart attack 2023 another stent. First stent was due to 95% blockage and second one was 80% blockage.

The first stent I found was pain free and I received it as an out patient. The second one I was already in hospital I found this one to be really painful and I had pain in my chest. Once the stent was fitted I was fine. Very tired when I returned home.

A year and a half later I am ok. I took time off work and now I am back to my teaching job.

Hope you feel ok and on the mend soon. ❤️‍🩹

I was a ex semi alcoholic , I didn’t help myself at first , change your way of thinking, yes it’s hard staying in a positive frame of mind , keep yourself busy, but most of all listen to your body , get a food tolerance test done , this will help with some of the angina symptoms then will find out what foods disagree with you, I now use soya milk , and oatmeal bread for example so it doesn’t bloat. you, then the acid reflux doesn’t build up so much
