To ICD or Not To ICD (Part 2)

My original post regarding this matter appeared on these pages 23 days ago. All of the replies I received were positive. Yes, a small number mentioned issues around post-operative pain. I have no real concerns about the procedure itself. These things vary from one person to another.

I think the thing that emerged most in the replies I received was the confidence that the device gave to many of the respondents. I think that above the response vindicated my view that the people who shout loudest are those who feel unhappy about things. Those who are happy just get on with their lives.

Last week, I received a copy of a letter that the cardiology surgeon sent to my GP’s practice concerning the discussion he and I had. In the letter, he gave me the option to either, wait three months for another appointment or, to contact his secretary and tell her that I wish to go ahead with the procedure. I’m pleased to say that this afternoon, I have done the latter and given the opportunity I will go onto the cancellation list.

Thank you to everyone who replied. Without you support, I may not have done this.

nice that you have updated us.

I hadn’t thought about those who shout loudest. But what you say is spot on.

Cardiology are brilliant, superb etc etc.

Best wishes
