I have, finally, receives written confirmation that I have sinus node dysfunction, sinus Bradycardia and symptomatic fastly conducted paroxysmal atrial fibrillation and preserved LV Function. I am having a pacemaker fitted next week, which should help a lot. Is preserved LV function the same as heart failure? I have a feeling things, are not looking too good long term.

Is preserved LV function the same as heart failure?
when they say you have "preserved LV function" it means that your LV function has not been reduced or affected by the condition you have
Bradycardia and paroxysmal atrial fibrillation are not Heart Failure (which is not a failure but a reduction in how effectively the heart muscle works) - you can have these with heart failure
in heart failure you can have reduced LV function or preserved LV function
I suggest that you ask your doctor to explain the contents of the letter before you sign the consent for your pacemaker - it is their responsibility to explain the diagnosis and its implications in a way you understand before getting your informed consent to proceed - the word "informed" is important here - you can not give your informed consent if you don't understand what you are signing up for🙂
