Hi, it's 1:45am as I write this and I'm looking for advice on how others like me who are in heart failure manage there sleep patterns. In addition to my heart failure I have AF 100% of the time and paced with a upper limit of 70bpm with no rate response (heart rate doesn't go above as it makes my AF worse) which really takes its toll on me when walking or doing tasks and results in me feeling weak and tired.
Currently under review with cardiologist and probably looking at a pacemaker CRT upgrade and cardioversion however until this happens I'm struggling on top of other things with my sleep.
Get really tired and fatigued during the day so have to give in and go to bed, usually take 1-2 HR naps and when night time comes I'm usually still exhausted and have no problem falling asleep but I don't sleep for long maybe 3- 4 hrs then I'm wide awake and can't get back to sleep.
I tend to be in bed around 8-9pm as I can't keep my eyes open and I'm exhausted but come 1-2am I'm awake and can't get back to sleep so I just get up, by the time 9am I'm exhausted again.
I'm kind of governed by what my body is telling me at the moment so if I feel exhausted and tired I give in and go to bed.
Can't get out of this cycle and just wondered if others with heart failure and heart related problems experience this and how they manage it and what there routine is.
