I have been diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation and put on Apixaban. I have a slow but irregular pulse.

I eat healthy and exercise

The only problem I have is extreme fatigue and light headed.

Welcome to the club. We are not health professionals, but with our range of experiences between us on our various journeys we can appreciate what you are going through. A few questions to help us understand more of what your situation is:

Has there been talk of you having a pacemaker to deal with the slow heartbeat?

Are you on any other medication?

Do you get breathless easily when you start activities due to your heartbeat not increasing as it should?

Cheers CM

Apixaban is a blood thinner that protects you against having a stroke. Are you on any heart medication? I have PAF and on Flecainide for my heart and Ramipril for my BP. My brother had 2 stents in his heart on a different blood thinner not Warfarin and 4 heart tablets. But no BP tablet since he lost 8st. I lost 7st.

Are you under an AF clinic and seen a cardiologist? If not you need to be.

Hi, hope you have had your heart checked out for HF. Echocardiogram or stress test.

Do you have a cardiologist? You could probably do with one...

could be the AF causing the Dizziness and the fatigue. Talk to your cardiologist or HF nurse

I will as soon as I get a referral. I'm looking at another 2 months, they are processing February at the moment. My referral was put through in April. Thanks for the advice.
