Bad feeling after exercise on Clopidogrel

I have had stents fitted 6 months ago and are now on DAPT Aspirin, Clopidogrel, Atorvastatin. I get a really heavy in the body and light headed sensation after moderate exercise by increasing my heart rate by 40% for as little as 7 minute with 2 minute cool down. It does not feel healthy or what I would normally feel after exercise. Depending on severity this could pass in 15-60 minutes. The longer I exercise the worse it is. Could this be the DAPT please? Any one else get this?

I’d be looking at the statin rather than the DAPT. They made me feel too heavy to move.

I couldn't tolerate Atorvastatin at all, my legs felt heavy, my muscles ached. My dose was dropped and dropped, but was still having the same side effects even on the lowest dose I was changed to Simvastatin and have been fine. I m not saying this is what your problem is, but it's a possibility.

doesn't feel right to me.

Are you drinking enough water at least a few hours before, during and after excericse?

Are you potentially over doing it? What has your cardiologist or cardio rehabilitation nurse recommended you be doing and are you following their guidance

If yes to all above I would call doctor and ensure nothing odd is going on.

I excericse regularly now, 7 months post HA, and I'm not experiencing anything like that.

Thanks - done all that. Exercising under supervision of my cardioligist approved clinical physiologist and GP none of who can explain it. Iron levels good. Sounds like not DAPT by the response so far. Perhaps the statins. Weird thing is I'm fine during the exercising as per my V02 Max / ECG test assessment in fact I could happily exceed that program - but it's when I stop the exercise things go bad. Last desperate attempt is to test magnesium levels.

Very strange, which excericses are you doing? another daft question but are you eating enough pre and post excericse.

It is odd for sure. Using a treadmill then as a test a reclining exercycle also just street walking. Good point re the food thanks. I shall test that theory.

it's worth trying. I'm on 80mg Atorvastarin which i take before going to bed. The only side effects I think I'm getting from it, is achy legs in morning.

I'm also on aspirin and prasugrel. bisoprolol and ramipril .

as others have mentioned worth trying to take statin at night, seeing how that goes.

Then trying to get it changed for another statin if that doesn't work.

but it seems from what you say your heart and cardiovascular system seems pretty damn good.

hi, I moved clopidogrel and atorvastatin to taking them in evening / bedtime as they gave me similar symptoms; headache, dizziness, and things have improved so I'm back to circuit training - best of luck finding what works for you

Atorvastatin played havok with my colon. I have diverticulitis as well as heart damage.

I am on the same dual therapy and 20mg of Atoravastatin. Side effects of statins is that they can lower vitamin d. I had my vitamin d tested and i am borderline low It maybe worth getting tested for know side effects.

I have an appoitment next week to come off statins with my gp as my Lipoprotein E is also low which is not good as that is needed for good cognitive health.
