I had a heart attack twelve months ago and had a 4.5 cm stent fitted to LAD.
All test are clear but still get pain sometimes - consultant has told me that I have blockages in minor arteries that will cause angina pain but not serious.
Is anyone else in this position?
thanks

Hi RichardYes is the short answer! I had 4 stents over a year ago now, two of which are in my LAD. My diagonal artery is still blocked but its too dangerous to stent. Like you I've been told it's not dangerous. I still get random angina type symptoms.
To put my mind and rest, and to check my stents are working well I had another Angiogram 3 months ago (a year after my stents). All looked well. 😁
However, I am now on Isosorbide Mononitrate and Ranolozine to widen my arteries further.
Maybe a discussion and plan with your cardiologist would be good to put your mind at rest.
I know, but remember, now you've had a stent your artery is in a much better state than before. You'll start to feel happier as the months go by. Try and see it as a new lease of life.
Yup I had a double bypass 25 years ago I was told at the time that my right coronary artery was completely occluded and also has distal disease which is the worst kind to treat. I had an angiogram last month as I still get breathless and angina pain on occasion despite taking loads of meds they have said it's a very tricky procedure and advised me to avoid it. I've learnt how to live with it and know my limitations.
I had a heart attack in December 2022 aged 43. I had 2 stents. I get intermittent chest pains which have settled a lot now. I find after a gym workout or when I’m really tired I get the worst chest pains. I’ve been into hospital and had lots of different tests and they cannot find anything wrong.
I take medication for my chest pain daily that was prescribed by the cardiologist. I take Ranolazine and Isosorbide Mononitrate. This helps a lot. I also carry a GTN spray which I’ve not used in over 6months.
It’s difficult sometimes what to think with the pains. It does get easier with time. I hope you manage to maintain some form of routine.
I hope things settle for you. If not, speak to your cardiologist about medication to give you some peace of mind.
