Ralph as cheerful as ever. Said a Dr from ENT came this morning and said we have a plan and walked out, lol. Not the consultant. I asked the nurse, she said yes he said keep going with the tracheotomy and take down to the next size. No idea what consultant thinks or even if he's seen the film yet.
I asked about the RIG and the blood thinners, she looked and said he started blood thinners again on Sunday night, so at least we don't have to worry about that. However now they'll have to book it in so he can come off them again 5 days before. There doesn't seem any sense of urgency!
I probably won't visit tomorrow as we have a gas service booked between 8-1, if it's nearer 1 I won't have time to visit.
OH that's good news about the blood thinners. A big relief even if it means doing it again later. I hope all goes well reducing the trachy. I think I'd have waved and gesticulated "Wait" at that doctor and not let him move until he'd explained "the plan". He needs a paper to hand with the word "Explain" written on it LOL.

I had such a lovely bit of time out yesterday from my own ridiculous twists and turns which I simply dare not share here at the moment, by having an aromatherapy massage. I hoped maybe you might be thinking about it too? I can't recommend it enough. It's so important you have self-nurture throughout your tireless, positive and loving support. XX
🐻 🫂 🐻 🫂 That's a given, dear Sue. Of course you would. But it doesn't mean you are not inspiring. Soldiering on through our tears is pure courage. Besides it's important to let all this vast emotion out. Physically, we can also feel really battered. Some hospitals offer patients and spouses a set of complementary therapies. I did these voluntarily for families for 2 years, for cancer and stroke sufferers. It's worth asking. There may be affiliated therapists if not. I think you might come to look forward to them, and it's a good release to feel you can let go in a safe space. Bear hugs. KBO, remember. Praying for both your Blessings. 😘😘
He certainly needs to learn to listen to patients who can't communicate normally. Thanks to a similar doctor who had no idea how to communicate with my deaf mother in law, she became convinced she had cancer and deliberately stopped eating. It took us weeks to persuade her otherwise, even spoon feeding her.
Hi Sue, Im glad the nurse was there to tell you what is going on good news he is back on the blood thinners it must of been a worry .I like you tend to put on a strong face in public but do find a good cry in private is a great relief of tension sometimes i even put a sad film on to help the process along lol Hope the gas service is straight forward for you xxx
I always miss my mum as soon as anything goes wrong my first thought is to phone her but its been over 8 years since we lost her Unfortunately my Dad is in hospital since october and wont be here for much longer. Its hard to lose them and dosnt matter what age they are xxx
Very much so 💔 Dad was 94 this month and has done very well but he had a massive stroke and it has been hard, they are always the ones we run to when we fall over to make it all better xxx
We know parents have to go at some point but it's no easier. I still pick up he phone to tell my dad things and after my granddad died I actually stayed on the bus to his house to tell him something I was thrilled about. Felt a real twerp when I realised. Mum and dad died at a much younger age than I am now.

Hi Castleview, I'm sorry I missed your last post, but I'm pleased to hear gradual progress for Ralph. The ENT guy is obviously feeling more acquainted with Ralph, as he's relaxed enough to paraphrase his intentions 😀.

Yes, I did, could have gone as gas man was early enough, but messaged Ralph and he said stay home and rest. I rang my friend instead and we had 2 hours on the phone catching up.
