HA in September last year, 4 stents fitted while in Canada. On a whole load of drugs, everything was or seemed ok. Came home 10 weeks later to be given a lot of new drugs, taken a while to get used to them. On Bisopropol, fuerisomide, ticagrelor, aspirin, empaglifozin , also atorvastin which I had to change. Entresto (2 a day) was introduced in February lowest dose. Everything seemed ok. BUT last week week, I nearly passed out, my bp was so low 90/64 Its been like that all weekend, I've been so dizzy, had docs on monday and he took me off the 2 dose of entresto and my statin as reacted to it (now Rosuvastin) . I seem to have good days and bad, today is a bad one, feel so dizzy. Taking bp every day but its still low. AGH!!!! Sorry having a rant, I seemed to be so much healthier when I was in Canada than I seem to be here, most of the drugs are the same, just dont understand why all this is happening.

Hi Velda , I’m sure someone will come along and share their similar experience. I had Nstemi and quadruple bypass july 2023, I was rehabbing really well then at about 4-5 months I had a month of feeling awful , aches pains , huge fatigue , brain fog… and with Dr agreement stopped my artovastatin for a trial. Felt great for a month then started Pravastatin, that gave similar symptoms after 7-10 days . Stopped that and had a fasting cholesterol test after a month ( my previous excellent results cholesterol 2.4mmol/L for example ) had gone up ( 4.5!) even on a very good Mediterranean type diet. So now trying low dose of Rosuvastatin (10mg) with a view of titrating up to a level I can tolerate. It’s quite frustrating , I had similar symptoms to you when my afternoon fatigue /shutdown was happening. I noticed my BP was fine in the mornings, 115/75 but dropped to 101/61 by 1-2pm and I would lose the afternoon/early evening . It used to come on while I was on a 4km walk with my Lurcher , it was a struggle to get home , felt dreadful.

I thought it was the beta blockers dropping my Bp but they are lowest dose (1.25mg Bisoprolol and half a 1.25 tablet Ramipril) my GP says it’s the interaction of the statin causing it as it all goes away when I stop taking them.

Bit of a quest to find a sweet spot.

Keep us posted .

Hi, sorry this is happening to you - it sounds really unpleasant. I also suffer from BP being right at the limit of what I can live with, sometimes dropping to below 90/ 60. I have heart failure and am on Bisoprolol, Dapagliflozin and medium dose Entresto. My cardiologist says its the Entresto causing the low BP but he and I agreed I should stay on it because its probably the one helping me recover heart function the most. However my dizzy spells are usually short lived and normally only come on when resting following exercise (even a walk). Even though I don't feel like it I find that getting up and moving around usually boosts the BP enough to make me feel better quite quickly. I don't know if you are in a position to try doing that when you feel bad. You won't feel like it I know but its surprising how quickly it can help. Obviously if you are so dizzy its not safe to get up, don't do it! Hopefully the adjustment in your meds will soon help anyway. Very interesting that your GP changed / removed your statin. My GP wants me to start a statin but I'm worried it might depress my BP even further which I'm just not up for! It seems that some statins can do this a little bit.

I too had a NSTMI and 2 stent fitted while in Canada last July. I was given Ticeglaor, asprin, peridopril 4mg (I was already on 2mg) Rosuvasyatin and a beta blocker. After about a month i had to change my beta blocker as I wad so tired, low pulse & dizzy. I was given Bisoprolol 1.25 insead but continued to feel rough so stopped it

When in Canada they adviced me to take a beta blocker for 3 months only so my heart could rest & recover. This is what I did. But I am on Propranolol 10mg for anxiety.

I have gone on what Canada told me and gave me, & I have argued my point with the Cardiologist I saw at home & GP.

Why change things if they work??

Rosuvastatin gave me severe muscle ains from Nov onwards so I am now started using Simvastatin.

Hope you find what works for you.
