would welcome any advice or information from anyone who takes Diltiazem for SVT - have recently been changed to this from Dysopyramide and propranolol as supply of dysopyrmide is getting hard to get. I am struggling with Diltiazem - it’s only early days but I’m feeling quite ill. Heart pounding - can’t relax. Literally can’t do much at all even sleep evades me as pounding heat keeps me awake. Have taken both disoprymide and propranolol for over 40 years. So I’ve suddenly become house bound after being a very active 71. And doing nana pickups and care. My life as come to a stop. Will this get any better?

Diltiazem after dysopryamide
In the absence of any replies from members who have direct experience in the medication you are taking (I don't) I suggest you make an appointment with your GP or whoever else is responsible for prescribing and discuss your situation. Medication is here to help us not make our lives a misery and there may be alternatives available which can turn things round for you.
Have found that Disopyramide is available again. Got mine on prescription from Superdrug about five weeks ago.
Disopyramide (Rythmodon) has been back in UK stock since mid January this year 2024.I take 500mgs of it daily.
I've been on it 4 years or so.
I was really poorly without it during the "shortage" period. So relieved it came back.
I'd maybe think about requesting a medication review with your GP and ask if you can be put back on it, if it suit's you better.
