you are right to be confident. AVR is fantastic. Saved my life. Hospital was fabulous, staff out of this world. It’s a long rehab at home but well worth it. Do follow the rehab advice. I am now four years post op and the new valve is problem free.

Best wishes

I had my quadruple bypass done there, great place. All individual rooms though so take something to read as it can get lonely!

Mind you I was in there three weeks plus as I had to stay there confined to bed whilst waiting for a slot for the operation

Hello, my partner had mitral valve surgery at Papworth in January 2024. The care he was given was excellent, the doctors, nurses and all the staff are phenomenal. You will have your own room and will be monitored throughout the day, so always someone around for anything you need. I just wanted to wish you the very best for your procedure and recovery - follow all the advise and guidelines for resting and walking etc and take each day at a time. Take care and best wishes.

A long time coming for me also, can assume it took them a long time to work out why you was sick? Me too. Nearly made me mute. But like you, my breakthrough is a referral to surgical team at the Royal papworth. I haven't had a consultation yet so I have no idea what's happening. But from my research royal papworth is the place to be. People travel from around the world for treatment here. Good luck and best wishes. Wishing you a speedy recovery and here's to quality of life
