Hi have you tried gargling with salt and hot / warm water (boiled but cooled down so not to burn)?

Yep

Paracetamol, honey/lemon/hot water, steam inhalation, difflam throat spray, fluids, boiled sweets/lozenges-anything that produces saliva is going to lubricate throat and make it feel better, extra pillow, no expectorants if trying to suppress a cough and rest. Patience too. There’s a lot of horrible bugs around. Take care 🦊x

Gargle with soluble aspirin on some warm water - spit out after use.(only if doesn’t interfere with other meds) Gargle as long as possible. Can be mixed with a little salt at the same time.

Also don’t use any toothpastes with sodium lauryl sulphate as can cause mouth ulcers and sore throats.

hi. I had something similar. It lasts for about three weeks, alas. So take care and rest!

Try boiling 1 pinch Saffron, 1 spoon honey and a cup of milk. This should help relieve symptoms.

Gargle with warm salt water. Not nice but works brilliantly. If it's severe, you need to speak to your gP. You may need antibiotics.

Or gargle with peroxyl mouthwash, recommended by my dentist for ulcerated throat.

Could it be acid reflux affecting the whole of your throat? Maybe the cough is a separate issue. Just a thought.
