Had h/a mid Jan , blue lighted to JR Oxford where they fitted 3 stents but couldn't do others so arranged to go back in March as day patient. Went on 6th March first one in theatreCame out few hours later with doctors taking turns to apply pressure. I didn't know what was going on so let them get on with. Nurse came and said I can go home between 3/4, My daughter picked me up and got a booklet off nurse - no discharge paperwork
Since l have been home have been in agony, rung ward for advice was told take paracetamol
I am black and blue from my hip to my navel, 10 days now from procedure and still very sore but GP prescribed pain patches so eased slightly
But I am angry!!!! They gave me no indication that I would be in such pain, no advice, and trying to copy of discharge papers , my rehab nurse finally got them for me,
The agony I have been through will not be forgotten for a long time

I'm on Ticagrelor and others. My rehab nurse explained the first 3 stents were finished off with a collagen plug but because this one needed a pressure one?? Using 2wires they couldn't use collagen plug , had to use physical pressure - 2 young fit doctors physically pressing their fists into my groin for 30 minutes or more to stop bleeding, my rehab nurse again describing this, local anaesthetic still working then , wasn't untill got home pain started and hasn't stopped. Can't walk without pain, It has been very traumatic. I have had classical caesarians less painful!!!!
Hi, my two visits for stents were the same in that no plugs used and the bleeding wouldn't stop. First one had the pressure belt thing across groin and wrists for 12hrs after 15 minutes of the surgeon and two nurses together putting pressure on femoral artery access point, lost quite a lot of blood. Second time same thing but 6 hours as again two nurses after the belt was removed had to stem the bleeding with hands and pressure applied again for 15 min or so. Was painful and bruised but not for days. Had a lump like a large grape went gp was told was just where the blood had collected which the pressure hadn't dispersed and would go in time. I did not have the bruising to the navel though or the severity of pain you seem to be having. This does not sound right to me. Maybe go back to gp to have them actually look and check it out again and if no joy go to A&E, I would. Good luck and hope everything settles quickly 🤞
