Such sad emotions after coronary heart disease diagnosis.

Hello. I have recently been diagnosed with coranary heart disease with a 100 percent block in RCA. The cardiologist opened this up as far as possible but unable to place a stent because the artery was to narrow. The cardiologist doctor also told me they are not to concerned about this because there is good blood flow and will only need to investigate again if I get any symptoms, and placed me on the different menu of meds. My concern is a blocked artery can cause heart attack so do I just have to wait for the worse to happen before anything else is done. I also have such fearful feelings of this happening but don't know when and thinking about this is causing some awful feelings of anxiety etc. My life doesn't feel the same and I don't feel the same person anymore and lost all confidence in myself. Does anyone know how to over come these negative feelings and such fear. Thank you

It is a consistent worry with coronary heart disease. All you can do is take the meds and dont be afraid to get help when symptoms are present. You come to terms with it after some time.

Thank you very much for your reply. Guessing it just takes some time with accepting and learning to live with it but very hard for me at the moment it's such a shock. Thank you again for taking the time to reply to me. X

Hello :-)

Getting a diagnosis can make us feel so full of fear and trying to get our heads around it is so difficult so many of us have or still feel this way

I had 3 heart attacks and a triple Bypass but one of the heart attacks I had damaged part of my heart that nothing can be done however they explained the Bypasses would help blood flow through my heart and eventually as it is a muscle the rest of my heart might compensate for the damaged part if that makes sense

I wonder as all your other arteries are good with a good blood flow if they are thinking on a similar kind of theory as they are so good they will compensate for the one that is blocked

They always make things I find sound so frightening they tell you and show you the door and you are just left with everything running through your mind

It might help as you may have so many questions to give the BHF Nurses a ring they are so good and could possibly put your mind at ease

Know you are not the only one to have the feelings that you do and give it time to process and things will start to get better :-) x

Hello Thank you so much for your reply so kind of you. I really do hope your heart issues get resolved and the damage part gets compensated by the good parts. Totally agree that sometimes they just tell you what's wrong and don't fully explain things and leave you with all these questions in your head. What you asked about other flow in arteries etc is again something they don't explain to make you feel better so guess I need to push for answers . Take good care and thank you again for your help and support most appreciated x

Hello :-)

To them they know what they are talking about when it is all new to us I think they forget we don't but hopefully you will push for those answers and will get them and that will make you feel so much better :-) x
